The Häagen-Dazs© brand is excited to announce the grand prize winners of the "Häagen-Dazs Chef's Challenge," a contest where professional foodservice chefs showcased their skills and creativity by creating unique desserts and beverages using Häagen-Dazs ice cream. Celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson and a panel of foodservice judges selected two grand prize recipes, one of which will be featured as a limited time offer on the menu of Marc Burger, the hot new burger-and-shake concept by Marcus Samuelsson.
Adam Hegsted, an executive chef with Coeur d' Alene Casino, Resort & Hotel, was selected as the dessert category winner for his Mascarpone Grilled Cheese and Rhubarb with Häagen-Dazs Strawberry Ice Cream recipe. The Frozen Mexican Hot Chocolate, submitted by Hilary Hazeltine, a beverage innovation chef with Sun Orchard, Inc. won in the beverage category. Both winners were awarded a $2,500 cash prize. In addition to the cash prize, Chef Hazeltine's recipe was chosen by Marcus Samuelsson to be featured as a limited time offer item on his Marc Burger menu.
